Before you start
A PDF you have permission to edit and a saved original copy.
1. Open and inspect
Open the PDF editor and choose your document. Navigate to the correct page and zoom in until the target area is clear.
2. Use Redact
Mark every area containing information to remove. Review all redaction rectangles, choose a resolution and confirm the redaction export.
3. Download a new copy
Review the edited page, open the download dialog and save a separate file. Inspect the downloaded file rather than relying only on the preview.
Check the result
Reopen the export and test text selection and searching. Also inspect metadata, attachments, bookmarks and other pages separately.
What to know
Redacted pages become images and lose their original text layer. This does not remove document metadata or attachments, and it makes no claim to meet a legal redaction standard.
