Your first HookBoy project.

The complete walkthrough
  1. Choose and trim your opening.
  2. Add your brand, references and script.
  3. Review the quote, generate and compare takes.

Start with an opening worth continuing

HookBoy takes an opening video and develops a continuation around your product or message. It connects source selection, a reviewed script, actual brand references and the generation settings in one persistent project. The aim is a coherent next scene rather than an unrelated clip joined to a strong first few seconds.

Use an opening you are authorised to reuse. Check its meaning, tone and final frame before deciding what should follow. A striking hook can still be the wrong starting point if it promises something your product does not do or creates a misleading transition into the brand story.

Give the next scene real material to work from

Choose and trim the opening, then inspect the available transcript. Add your website so HookBoy can extract available logo, colour and typography information. Extraction depends on the actual page; review what was found instead of assuming that the first detected colour is the brand’s primary colour.

The second-stage reference board accepts up to ten images, such as product screenshots, photographs and logo artwork. Choose a lead reference and add concise notes explaining what matters. A clean screen, an accurate product view and a clear instruction are more useful than many nearly identical images. Supported video adapters have their own reference limits, which apply when selecting the generation model.

Keep the script, brand direction and request settings aligned

  • Inspect the source hook and transcript before writing the continuation. Confirm that the opening ends where the new scene should begin.
  • Review the extracted identity alongside your uploaded references. Use notes to distinguish required product details from optional mood or composition ideas.
  • Edit the script before generating. Explain the product’s actual action and the next message rather than expecting a model to infer an entire app from one screenshot.
  • Choose duration, resolution, audio and reference settings supported by the selected adapter. The quoted maximum belongs to that particular request, not every model or every possible output.

Example: introduce a useful product feature

  1. Trim an opening that sets up the problem your feature addresses. Check the source’s usage rights and how its final moment connects to the product.
  2. Add the real website and a small reference set: the relevant screen, a product view and the official logo. Explain the specific layout or colour relationships that should be retained.
  3. Review the script and final request parameters, then read and approve the maximum credit quote before submission.
  4. Compare returned takes for product accuracy, text, hands, motion, audio and the join with the original hook. Download the approved stitch and use it as a reviewed creative reference for a Harness campaign.

Follow a branded product launch

Review the complete video and recover without duplicate submissions

A finished take needs more than a successful provider status. Watch the whole stitch, including the transition, product claims, typography and ending. AI can alter interfaces and words; a close match to a reference is something to inspect, not a guarantee. Keep the project and reference board available when another version is needed.

HookBoy distinguishes a definite rejection from an uncertain acknowledgement. If a job may already exist at the provider, do not repeatedly press Generate to guess what happened. Keep its saved job reference and use the available recovery path or support guidance. Projects retain the source choices, brand references and production history needed to understand the request.

Understand when credits and external processing apply

Adding references and editing the board do not incur paid generation charges. Script preparation and video generation can use the configured external AI providers. Review the selected model, supplied material and price information before proceeding; reference handling varies by adapter.

Account reserves the displayed maximum for a variable paid request, settles supported actual usage and releases unused credits. The maximum is a spending bound, not a promise that every take will be creatively suitable. Your source and brand materials may be sent to the selected provider for the action you approve. Avoid including confidential information that the generation does not need.

Questions about brand consistency and references

Does uploading ten images mean every model receives ten image inputs?

No. The board helps organise and describe the creative direction, while the selected adapter has its own native image-reference limits. Review those limits and the request settings before generation.

Will the generated video reproduce an app screen exactly?

No model output should be assumed to preserve every interface label, colour or layout. Review the result against the real product and reject misleading takes.

Why is a delayed generation not offered as an automatic retry?

An uncertain acknowledgement can mean that a provider already accepted the request. A second submission could create another billable job, so the saved reference needs reconciliation first.
