Page order, edits, format and export
MAKE ROOM FOR THE GOOD PART.
Bring the document into order.
For preparing submissions, proposals and everyday paperwork in one named project.
Add text, images, highlights and drawn signatures.
Convert Word, PDF and image documents.
- Create a project and choose your document tool.
- Add files, make changes and review page order.
- Export and check the finished document.
Prepare the document the recipient needs
FOLD brings document tasks into a project-based workspace: organise pages, combine a pack, add focused annotations or convert a file into the format the recipient requires. Start with the submission or handover rules so the final result has the right contents, order and format.
A readable document pack is more useful than a folder containing several plausible versions. Decide which file is the source, which contains your changes and which is approved for delivery. Keep the editable originals independently when the recipient may ask for another revision.
Check the inputs before arranging pages
Create or open a named project and choose the relevant document tool. Add the files you are authorised to process, then inspect their page counts, orientation and visible content. A scanned page, an editable Word document and a PDF with embedded text need different expectations when editing or converting.
Confirm any recipient requirements for page size, maximum size, ordering and required format. Password restrictions or an unsupported file should be resolved deliberately. Renaming a filename extension does not convert the underlying document, and a preview that opens does not prove that every page or font will export correctly.
Choose the tool that matches the task
- Merge and organise combine the correct sources, reorder pages, rotate misoriented pages and split a document into the required selections.
- Editing adds text, images, highlights and drawn signatures where appropriate. Check placement against the page at a readable zoom.
- Conversion moves between supported Word, PDF and image formats through the selected conversion flow. Inspect the result for headings, tables, line breaks and page boundaries.
- Projects preserve the selected tool, source files and workspace settings. Tool switching should help you continue the same task without confusing one document with another.
A drawn signature is a visible mark; it is not a cryptographic digital signature or a claim about a legal signing process.
Example: turn three sources into one client pack
- Collect the approved cover note, main document and supporting pages. Confirm their order against the recipient’s checklist.
- Merge them in FOLD and inspect each transition. Remove a duplicate page and correct any rotation before adding annotations.
- If a source needs conversion, convert it first and review its layout. Use the checked output in the final ordered pack.
- Export the pack and open the downloaded file. Check its page count, readable text, links where relevant and the final page, then upload the approved version to Dowe for sharing.
Keep the project and check the actual export
FOLD’s owned project retains file bytes, ordering, editor annotations, rotation and workspace settings so you can return after refresh. Wait for confirmation before leaving. A failed save or revision conflict requires attention; the visible canvas alone does not prove that the backend accepted the current changes.
The final export is the recipient’s document, so review it in an independent viewer. Check important pages and a representative table or complex layout. Conversion can change pagination or font appearance. Keep the original and an editable project so correcting a problem does not require reconstructing the whole pack from a flattened output.
Understand local processing and conversion
Most PDF tools process in the browser. Project persistence uses private authenticated storage so files and settings can be restored. Word/PDF conversion uses an authenticated private conversion service rather than pretending that a browser-only rename can preserve document structure.
Deterministic tools do not incur paid AI generation credits. Any action with a documented paid dependency must disclose its charge before confirmation. Do not include confidential attachments that the task does not need, and review your sharing permissions separately when the finished document leaves FOLD.
Questions about formats and document review
Will Word/PDF conversion preserve every detail?
Review the converted result, especially fonts, tables, headers, footers and page breaks. Keep the original so a layout issue can be corrected rather than silently accepted.
Can a highlight safely remove confidential text?
No. A visual mark or overlay is not proof that underlying content was removed. Use an appropriate verified redaction process for sensitive data and inspect the exported document.
Is the saved project the file I should send?
The project is your editable workspace. Export and inspect the finished document, then send that intended deliverable rather than internal sources or unrelated project material.
