Compare Repaint cleanup methods

Use Inpainting method in the documented Repaint editor to control a photo cleanup.

Before you start

A source photograph and a clear idea of what you want to remove.

1. Prepare the photograph

Open the Repaint application and load the image. Keep the original and identify any details that must remain unchanged.

2. Use Inpainting method

Where the editor offers Telea and Navier-Stokes methods, compare the result on the same selection. Look at how each continues local texture and edges.

3. Process and inspect

Apply the cleanup where relevant, inspect it at full-image and close-up views, then export a new copy.

Check the result

These local methods do not guarantee a convincing reconstruction of complex objects, faces, text or large missing regions.

What to know

Open your project in Repaint to apply these steps to your own image. Refine the selection, compare the changed region with the source and review the export. The homepage comparison uses a prepared sample.
